Mentry Hall was evacuated for 45 minutes Thursday afternoon due to a triggered fire alarm, according to officials.
The alarm sounded at approximately 5:30 p.m. and instructors immediately began evacuating students.
Campus security quickly arrived on scene and searched the building for trouble. According to officials, there was no fire and the triggered alarm was due to faulty equipment.
Due to the equipment failure the alarm couldn’t quickly be shut off and continuously sounded for 30 minutes.
Classes resumed shortly before 6:30 p.m.
