Mayor Marsha McLean has a cautious outlook even though the United States most wanted man-of-terror, Osama bin Laden, was killed by Navy SEALs. The Santa Clarita mayor stated she does not feel the world is safer with his death, adding that she wishes it had happened sooner.

“There will always be fanatics that will want to cause harm to the United States,” McLean said. The mayor also emphasized that the majority of citizens do not understand that type of mentality and degree of vendetta.

The Mayor agrees with Sheriff Lee Baca that residents should be wary of retaliation and stay on alert. She is confident in the Santa Clarita Sheriff continuing to be vigilant and advises residents not to take suspicious behavior for granted. In this war on terror, the mayor recommends that Santa Clarita stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station at (661) 255-1121.
