The College of the Canyons Nursing Program received a $10,000 donation from the Facey Medical Group benefiting the  Yvonne Wiggins Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The fund is dedicated to Yvonne Wiggins a former COC student and Facey nurse that passed away from complications with cancer.

Dr. Frederick Russo was on hand to present the check to Sue Albert the Dean of Allied Health and Safety, along with Dr. Diane Van Hook and other school representatives.
With this donation, the fund has grown to over $20,000 and will be used to help needy students with the cost of participating in the nursing program. To date, 8 students have received scholarships from the fund.

The nursing program currently has over 290 students enrolled. This donation will go a long way to help those students that have the drive but maybe not the means to be COC nursing students.
