COC will host its first ever College2Career Day this Saturday at the Valencia campus from from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This free event is designed to help students explore career paths, as well as show them the importance of a college education. Event Organizers hope this event will help answer the question: “What will I do with my education and my life?”

College2Career Day will feature workshops, hands on activites, and interactive demonstrations by COC faculty members, along with representatives from four year colleges and universities. They will be there providing information on various academic and career technical education opportunities.

Some of the COC deparments scheduled to be at the event include: culinary arts, animation, photography, paralegal, welding, land surveying, computer networking, EMT, and hotel restaurant management.

A workshop entitled “Many Ways to Win” will focus on high school students and will inform both students and their parents about three areas of life after high school: identifying a career, getting a job, and earning a living.

Audrey Green, COC associate vice president of academic affairs said, “most students have not had a great deal of exposure to the world of work and the vast opportunities available to them. Our goal is to help students connect education to a career and plan for their future.”
