Cougars stumble in 2nd round to Ventura

By   | November 21, 2012 9:35 pm

COC women’s soccer team perfect season came to an abrupt end as Ventura College beat the Cougars, 1-0 at Cougar Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier this year  COC beat Ventura  3-1. This would not be the same result.

On a set piece outside of the goalie box the Cougars had a wall of 4 girls then at the last minute decided to bring over a 5th girl which backfired. The Ventura player kicked it and it deflected off the 5th player’s back and the goalie could do nothing about it.

COC’s best opportunity came in the 2nd half after a foul they took a short pass which was shot then deflected off the crossbar right to another COC player which attempted to head it in, but the keeper was there to stop it.
