If you run into COC Chancellor Dr. Dianne Van Hook, Eric Harnish won’t be far away.

Harnish has been at COC for 11 years now working in various places from teaching in the classroom to working in the Chancellor’s office.

Harnish got his start by getting a Bachelor’s degree at USC in print journalism and international relations and became a journalist for a short time.

He then went to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to get his Master’s degree in business and ended up having a career in public affairs .

In the Chancellor’s and public affairs office, Harnish performs a variety of duties including writing speeches for the Chancellor,  writing letters to senators and legislatures, doing TV interviews, and traveling to Sacramento.

While Harnish is not working at COC he likes to spend his spare time mountain biking, and going camping and hiking with his family.
