The youth of Santa Clarita gather to College of the Canyons stadium to beat the Guinness Book Record for the world's largest drum circle on Friday May 18, 2012. The children were junior high students from the various districts in the Santa Clarita Valley wearing different shirts to match which district they were a part of. Not only did the children succeed in beating the record, but there were celebrity drum who participated as well: Mickey Hart - the drummer for The Grateful Dead and The Mickey Hart Band, John Densmore - The Doors Rikki Rockett - Poison and Rockett Drum Works, Poncho Sanchez - "the king of conguero," Gorden Campbell - who had drummed for Jessica Simpson and George Duke, Eric "E-Panda" Hernandez - Bruno Mars and Taio Cruz, and finally Mike Phillips - who is a drummer for Janelle Monáe.
