Two people were transported to a local hospital after a three car traffic collision caused by a deer, at Bouquet Canyon Road and Centurion Way, Tuesday morning.

According to Robert Gonzales a fire fighter with The Los Angeles County Fire Department, a car was slowing down to avoid hitting the injured deer.

“I believe the deer had already been injured from a prior incident,” Gonzales said. “Once the first car slowed down to avoid hitting the deer is when the other vehicles got involved.”

According to an official with The Los Angeles County Animal Control, they received a call around the same time reporting a deer was hit by a car. However, officials can not verify if the two incidents were related.

According to animal control the deer was deceased when they arrived on scene, and was removed.

The traffic collision was reported at 8:30 a.m.
