Stephanie Gutierrez, 17, a senior at Valencia High School, was born to be a trap shooter.
At the age of 11, her father, Robert, took Stephanie to a shotgun range and immediately saw potential for her, recalling that she was a natural, “It came naturally. She would come with me and would just watch and waiting to get out there.”
Stephanie was hooked for life, and now six years later Perazzi, her favorite shotgun, sponsors her.
Gutierrez has qualified for the final stages of the U.S. Olympic Trails in trap shooting, finishing in second place overall.
Maintaining a spot on the top five of her events we can hope to see her in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janerio.
Although this is Gutierrez’ main goal to earn an Olympic medal, she has a second- degree black belt in taekwondo and has maintained good grades earning her spot on the honor roll.
Maturity beyond her age, determination, and the mental strength that she has are what makes her very successful.
