One student was hospitalized after being overcome by fumes at the TLC at College of the Canyons on Thursday afternoon.
Officials were forced to clear several dozen students and staff from the building after a noxious odor was reported in one of the classrooms.
Students in the TLC complained of watery eyes and sinuses.
Although COC has not officially identified what caused the smell, many students said they believe it was pepper spray.
Another student was treated and released at the scene.
COC has no suspects.
Students and staff were allowed back in the facility a short time later.
