Rabbits are adorable and make awesome pets, but not every rabbit gets a happy ending. Every year, thousands of rabbits are abused, abandoned, and neglected. Animal control has to euthanize them after a period of time.

Luckily, there is Mike and Andrea VIgo, a married couple in Canyon Country that rescues all kinds of animals, including rabbits.

Second Chance For Rabbits is a non-profit, no kill organization started in 1997. Andrea encourages people to adopt rabbits like they would a cat or dog, and not throw them into the wild when you don’t want them anymore.

Andrea had always loved animals, and left the business world to go back to school and learn how to care properly for them. Andrea and Mike have been married twenty years and in the beginning would have never thought they would be living on a ranch with all sorts of farm animals. Mike said he was hesitant at first, but once he saw the extreme passion his wife had for carrying for animals, he knew they had to do it.
