18 year old, Valencia High School Senior, David Duncan was found dead in Frazier Park on Monday, March 21.  He was walking home late Sunday evening after going to see a family member when he suddenly tripped and hit his head hard on the ground.  He was knocked unconscious and was subject to very cold temperatures where it is suspected hypothermia was the cause of death.

Memorial services were held for David on Friday, March 25.  Many of his friends and family attended the afternoon ceremony at The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints near Skycrest Circle.  The entire event was full of raw emotions as family members and fellow students paid their respects to their lost classmate.

“David wasn’t perfect, but he was a good kid, he tried to do the right things and generally did…” said Uncle James Duncan before the funeral took place.

David’s best friend, Cameron Black said, “Once he [David] set his mind to something, he always saw it through no matter what.”

David was a positive influence on many of his peers and he will be missed throughout Santa Clarita.
